In 2022, the Plyos State Historical, Architectural and Art Museum-Preserve is marking its 40^th anniversary and the only in Russia Museum of Landscape in Plyos is celebrating its 25^th anniversary while the Russian Academy of Arts – its 265^th jubilee. At present, the Russian Academy of Arts with all its creative, educational, research and museum divisions is a unique entity asserting basic humanistic values and implementing national interests in the promotion of art culture and aesthetic education.

 

The Plyos Museum and the Russian Academy of Arts have been connected by many years of friendship and fruitful cooperation including participation of the Academy’s members in the well-known in Russia “The Green Rustling” plain air in Plyos and numerous art projects of the Plyos Museum-Preserve. On the ground floor of the Museum of Landscape occupying the old merchant mansion of the Groshevs – Podgornovs on display are almost 50 canvases showcasing today’s achievements of the largest in Russia state center of fine arts. The exhibition is a gift to residents and guests of Plyos and presents works by the President of the Russian Academy of Arts Zurab Tsereteli; Vice-Presidents Victor Kalinin, Anatoly Lyubavin, Evgeny Maximov; Academicians O.V. Bulgakova, V.A. Glukhov, A.A. Zakharov, I.P. Kalinina, I.L. Lubennikov, T.G. Nazarenko, E.V. Romashko, V.N. Rusanov, A.G. Sitnikov, Y.A. Smirnova, V.B. Sokovnin, I.A. Starzhenetskaya, N.G. Toidze; Corresponding Members A.M. Birstein, N.V. Glebova, A.I. Dubov, A.V. Remnyov, D.A. Slepushkin and the trainee of the Academy’s Painting Creative Workshop in Moscow D.A. Rumyantseva.
